Speakout, a live call-in show, is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.

Guests include State Police Sargent Glenn Lang, who is in charge of the state’s Computer Crime Task Force. This Task force is now totally consumed with trying to anaylze computer hard drives in an effort to secure evidence which will get child molesters and abusers off the streets.

The Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, which Speakout Host Bill Diamond chairs, has discovered that due to staffing problems there are 80 hard drives waiting to be downloaded. Everyday these evidence-laden hard drives sit in the storeroom is another day these child pornographers get to keep doing what they do.

Rep. Mark Bryant and Gary Plummer will also be Diamond’s guests to discuss this problem and to explain how pervasive child poronography is in Maine and what needs to be done.
