Gorham police said motorists should seek an alternate route for the next four business days while a section of County Road (Route 22) is repaved, beginning Friday, Aug. 25.

Lt. Chris Sanborn said that the portion of the highway near the new VIP store would be reduced to one lane between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sanborn said drivers could detour around the construction on Route 22 by traveling three local roads. From South Street (Route 114), drivers could take McLellan Road to Brackett Road to Saco Street, which intersects with Route 22 in North Scarborough.
