Unity Church of Greater Portland, located at 54 River Road in Windham, is hosting “Enlighten Up! Vanda’s Quantum Comedy Show” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1.

Largley inspired by the hit film, “What the Bleep Do We Know,” stand-up comedian Vanda Mikoloski invites audiences to join her on a romp down a twisted spiritual path.

Mikoloski began her professional stand-up career in 1983 at Catch a Rising Star in New York City where she was a late-night emcee.

She was voted the funniest person in Washington in Showtime’s “Funniest Person in America” contest.

She resumed her stand-up career after the start of the U.S.-led Iraqi invasion because, as she puts it, “I felt like I had something to say.”

Vanda’s Quantum Comedy Show, which she describes as the humorous exploration of quantum physics and the nature of reality, has been playing at The Mark in downtown Olympia. Her comedy is about “What connects us.”

Vanda says, “I am interested in what Eckhart Toll calls ‘the emerging new consciousness on the planet’ and designing and crafting my comedy inside a context where it is a true contribution. I think it’s a revolutionary act to simply be with people and listen to them. My intention is to give back to the tribe and leave a legacy of peace. I stand for freedom and power of human beings, as we render the old, unworkable systems obsolete.”
