It’s this time of year that the team at Wolfe’s Neck Farm is able to find some time to step back from the busyness of life on a farm. It is a time that we are able to reflect on the year gone by as we craft our plans for 2014 and beyond. More importantly, though, this is the time of year when we are able to share our gratitude with all of our friends, members, supporters, volunteers, program participants, campers, visitors and businesses who have helped make this a memorable and successful year at Wolfe’s Neck Farm.

This year has seen us welcome many new and returning visitors to our beautiful 626-acre property, set along four miles of oceanfront in Freeport. We’ve expanded our working farm, increased our production of healthy, naturally-grown and raised food, introduced the wonders of our farm to more than 3,500 young children taking part in field trips or farm school experiences and donated more than 8,000 pounds of fresh produce to Freeport Community Services and the Brunswick Food Pantry. We were also pleased to donate turkeys to Freeport Community Services for their annual Thanksgiving dinner. We couldn’t do any of this without the help of many, many people.

We’d like to take the time to publicly thank our dozens of volunteers, several hundred members and the following businesses who have helped us along the way in 2013: Bath Savings Institution and Bath Savings Trust Company, Bow Street Market, Brown Goldsmiths, Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen, Poland Spring, Bill Dodge Auto Group, Maine Magazine, Johnny’s Seeds, Norway Savings Bank, Murray Plumb and Murray, L.L. Bean, Miyake, Dead River Company, Whole Foods Market, Wicked Joe’s Coffee, WCLZ, Maine Course Hospitality Group, Preti Flaherty, Pierce Atwood, Idexx, Autowerkes, Gritty’s, Petrillos, Gather Farm Fresh Eatery, Azure Cafe?, Thos. Moser, Moxie Studio, Seth Helie Designs, Kristin K Charters, Nordica Theatre, Tyler Technologies, Chilton Furniture, Brewer South Freeport Marine and Riley Insurance.

Thank you for everything you’ve done to help us have a greater community impact in 2013. We look forward to working with you to make 2014 even better.
