Join GB&CE now and save
The Gorham Business & Civic Exchange will raise membership dues, but new and current members can save $10 by joining or renewing before Jan. 1.
Because of increased overhead costs, the business exchange will be raising its membership dues to $85 a year. “This is still such a bargain, for all the benefits members receive. I don’t know of any better way to let the public know about your business.” said Dana Redmond, executive director
Events the GB&CE sponsors to raise funds for specific civic causes include the Gorham Gala, “Fore a Scholarship” golf scramble and the recent “Burn Off the Turkey” Road Race, which benefited the Gorham Fire Department’s smoke detector fund.
The group’s biggest event is the Gorham Marketplace, to be held March 15 at the University of Southern Maine. Thousands of people show up to see what goods and services Gorham merchants offer.
Redmond said another benefit of joining is receiving listings in the annual Gorham Business Directory, which is currently being compiled. This resource is made available to the community at no charge. For information on advertising opportunities contact Don Cross at 232-1645.
The group meets monthly, alternating between breakfast, luncheon and after-hours meetings offering educational programs of interest to business owners. The exchange publishs a quarterly newsletter and many businesses offer members discounts.
