The Westbrook Cemetery Trustees recently began the process of installing veteran’s markers at the Saccarappa Cemetery.
Research by local veterans and historians revealed that at least 125 veterans are buried at Saccarappa Cemetery. A large proportion of those veterans’ graves lack appropriate veterans markings and, as such, the cemetery trustees and the city’s Public Services Department are partnering in an effort to install appropriate markings. Trustees Joe Thibeault, Norm Conley and Bruce Allen are spearheading the project and are to be commended for their commitment and dedication to Westbrook cemeteries and the veterans buried here.
