Library resumes regular hours
Merrill Memorial Library has resumed regular hours at its newly renovated building at 215 Main St. It is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Readers Circle selection for January is “The Ice Princess,” by Camilla Lackberg. The book discussion group will meet Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m., at the library.
Walk with Santa
Yarmouth Community Services is hosting a Walk With Santa, Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 10 a.m. Those attending should meet at the West Side Trail at the Tyler Technologies parking lot. Cocoa and cookies will be served after the hike.
Tree pruning to continue
Starting in January, Central Maine Power will continue its street tree-pruning program. The following streets in Yarmouth are on their list for 2015 (includes all side streets):
Group 1: North Road, East Main Street, Burnell Drive, Melissa Drive, Ellen Circle, Farnell Circle, Gail Lane, Rogers Road, South Old County Road, Granite Street extension, Willow Street, Bayview Street to Brown’s Point, Woodland Drive, Sisquisic Trail, Harbor View Drive, Yankee Drive.
Group 2: West Elm Street, Center Street, South Street, School Street, Bridge Street, Mayberry Lane
Group 3: Portland Street, High Street, Spring Street.
Group 4: Gilman Road, Morton Road, Vail Point, Homewood area, Seaborne Drive, Oakley Road, Drinkwater Road, Sunset Point Road, Prince’s Point.
Group 5: Pleasant Street, Evergreen Drive, Smith Street, Lafayette Street, Route 88, Fairwind Estates, Rand Road, Wood Circle Drive, Route 1,

Parking ban
The all-night, on-street parking ban is in effect through April 15. This is an effort to keep the streets clear for snow removal. According to the police department, all-night parking is defined as parking for more than one hour between midnight and 6 a.m. This applies to all public streets within the town.
