One more way to stay in touch with events at Scarborough High School is to log onto www.scarborough.k12.me.us/high. Parents can log on to read monthly newsletters, view athletic and co-curricular schedules, peruse the program of studies and student handbook, or read updated announcements.
Project Graduation silent auction
Project Graduation’s annual silent/live auction is scheduled for March 25, 2006 – we encourage you to mark your calendar. Your help is needed. It will take many parent volunteers to reach our goal of $20,000. The money raised will fund the all-night chemical-free celebration for the Class of 2007. Wellness Community Forum coming up
Over the past two months the Scarborough School Wellness Policy Committee has begun conversations about a future school policy regarding food services, health and nutrition curriculum, and physical education activity in our schools. The Federal government is requiring that all school districts have a policy and begin implementation in the fall of 2006. Recently, the community was given an opportunity to respond to some key questions on a survey that was made available through the district website, written format, and web-based via the Scarborough Wellness Group website.
On January 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Wentworth Intermediate School’s band room, the community is invited to a forum to hear the results of the survey. This is the second in a series of forums by this committee to promote communications around the school’s current programs and the formulation of a draft policy proposal and timeline for implementation of the Scarborough School Department.
