The first photo shows the old Prides Corner School, which was built in 1869 on Bridgton Road at Pride Street and served the area for eighty-two years. In 1951, a larger and more modern school was built on a twelve-acre site on Pride Street, a short distance from this building.
The school building was later purchased by the Westbrook Trust Company and demolished to make way for a bank to serve the Prides Corner area. The bank closed and eventually became part of this eye surgery complex that is shown in the second photo.
