Ralph “Skip” Willis is at the wheel, driving his father, Ralph “Rusty” Willis, in a 1927 Reo fire truck in this 1991 photo from a Gorham parade. Rusty Willis, who earlier had been a selectman and chairman of the board, died in 1996. Bertha Bridges Willis, Rusty’s wife, wrote a history in 1986, “The Way It Was In Gorham.” The Willis family is descended from Gorham’s earliest settlers.
