The Scarborough Red Storm field hockey team closed out its season on a high note, beating Portland (3-10-1) on the road 4-0 on Monday afternoon.
The Storm (12-1-1) got on the scoreboard just 10 minutes into the game when Molly Gove scored off a penalty corner. Jordi Rowe got Scarborough’s second goal of the game with just 10 minutes left in the first half.
Scarborough closed out the scoring with two more first half goals from Nancy Leasure and Melissa Freeman. Erika Schneller had seven saves in net for the Red Storm, who now await their first playoff opponent when the postseason begins next week.
