Fifth-grader Ethan Nestor of Cape Elizabeth took home five first place awards and two second place awards at an Augusta gymnastics tournament on Saturday.

In addition to his awards, Nestor also finished in first place as best all-around gymnast in his division during the tournament.

In his second year as a gymnast, Nestor bested all of his competitors in the level five division in four of the six events.

Nestor, 11, also topped his own best scores from previous meets. The tournament involved proficiency on the rings, parallel bars, high bar, pommel horse, vault, and floor exercise. His overall score was 50.05 points out of a possible 60 points.

Nestor practices at Gymnation in Kennebunk. His favorite event is the floor exercise.
