A husband and wife were arrested by Westbrook police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Wednesday night for possession and trafficking of crack cocaine.
Jay Girard, 46, and Diane Girard, 45, were arrested at their home on Declaration Drive at 11 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of crack cocaine, scales, packing materials and drug paraphernalia. Diane Girard was also arrested on a charge of violation of conditions of release.
According to Westbrook police, a 17-year-old was in the home, and police are working to get support services for the minor who is considered a victim of the couple’s drug habits.
Police arrested the couple after executing a search warrant that resulted from an investigation into drug activity at the home.
