A house fire about 1 p.m. on Wednesday in Westbrook closed a section of Brown Street from Bridge Street to St. Anthony’s Church.

Firefighters from Westbrook and Gorham responded to the incident at 269 Brown St. But no smoke was immediately visible. A resident outside the home said he smelled a little smoke and that a neighbor had reported the fire.

Further details were not immediately available.
