Pownal, Durham and North Yarmouth residents are now combined together in Maine House District 46. This is due to the recent legislative redistricting and means we will elect a representative together for the first time ever this November. Last week, I met the person who I think it the right one for us.

Durham resident Paul Chace is the individual I believe will do a great job taking our concerns to Augusta. He and his wife Karen are both pharmacists, so he knows the health0care issues facing all of us. The Chaces owned their own pharmacy in Portland for several years and he understands first hand the challenges of being a small business owner. High taxes and excessive regulation are problems he wants to reign in.

Paul currently works with Rite Aid to recruit recent pharmacy school graduates for good-paying jobs at stores throughout Maine. He believes that all our children should receive a quality education that successfully prepares them for good jobs. Paul thinks all our citizens deserve sustainable jobs – ones that they can count on to let them raise a family and own a home.

He is an avid outdoorsman and belongs to the Durham Rod & Gun Club. Paul wants to protect our natural resources for everyone to enjoy. He supports a balance of working forests and waterfronts, as well as land for recreation.

Chace wants all voices to be heard in Augusta, not just those of special interests. He wants us to know our government is working for us and hears our concerns. Paul is committed to bringing our local issues to the state legislative process. He is articulate and compassionate and after speaking with him, I know he will represent us with honor and integrity. I look forward to sending Paul Chace to Augusta.
