This building at 881 Main St. in the photo at the left housed the Burns and Corbin Barber Shop (John Burns and Zeno Corbin) on the right and the Smoke Shop (Gerard Nadeau) on the left. Mrs. Margaret Shane resided on the upper floor and rented rooms.

The Smoke Shop was also known as “Kit’s Smoke Shop” and the barbershop was at one time known as George’s Barber Shop when George Belanger operated it. The building to the left was Knight’s Hardware and later became Sportsman’s Hardware. Both buildings were taken by Urban Renewal for a parking lot.
