The Cape Elizabeth football team was well represented on the Campbell Conference Class B All-Conference Team. Six Capers were recognized. They were senior lineman Nathanael Lavallee, senior fullback Matt Weiss, senior lineman Patrick Boland, junior running back Tommy Foden, junior quarterback Ezra Wolfinger and junior wide receiver Finn Melanson.
The Capers ended the year with a 9-2 record with both losses coming to eventual state champion Mountain Valley (12-0). Cape fell in the Western Maine Class B championship to the Falcons in Rumford 28-19 on Nov. 15. After going behind 16-0 early on, the Capers rallied to close the deficit to three in the fourth quarter on Foden’s third touchdown of the game. It was the only game all year – including the state championship, where Mountain Valley rolled over Morse 52-7 – in which the senior-laden Falcons allowed more than eight points.
