Paul Pettengill, a deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault and terrorizing on Monday at 8:30 p.m.

Pettengill, 42, was arrested after the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on Bonny Eagle Road in Standish.

According to Sheriff Kevin Joyce, Pettengill has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation.
