Branch to swim at New Englands
Bonny Eagle junior Hannah Branch is scheduled to compete Saturday in the New England High School Swim Championships at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.
Branch, who won the 100 freestyle and finshed second in the 200 individual medley at the Class A state meet, qualified to swim in both those events at this weekend’s meet.
All-star season

Lake Region’s Kate Callahan and Samantha Allen were named to the Western Maine Conference senior girls all-star team, and Lakers coach Paul True was named to coach one of the squads. The WMC all-star games will be held at Southern Maine Community College on March 14. The girls are scheduled to tip off at 5:30 and the boys at 7:30.
Monks are early favorites
Saint Joseph’s College has been chosen as the baseball preseason favorite of the North Atlantic Conference in a vote conducted by the league’s coaches. The defending NAC chanmpions return six starters, including 2005 first-team all-conference selections Charlie Furbush and Mark Clapp. Furbush, the NAC co-player of the year, who posted a 7-1 mark last season on the mound with a 1.75 ERA while hitting .392 with 32 RBI, led Saint Joseph’s to an 11-1 conference mark and the NAC title.
