Key players: EmJay Williams, Chelsea Norton, Kelsey Herbert, Danielle Waldron, Kristina Shavirov, Meghan Quigley and Michelle Casella.

Season outlook: “We’ve got everybody back, and they’ve been playing indoors and taking lessons, so we’re looking to improve on last year’s record. They’re great kids and good students. We’ve got seniors to provide leadership and experience, and our goal is to make it deeper into the playoffs.”

Boys Tennis

Coach: Tim Gillis (7th year)

Last season’s record: 9-4

How did last season end: Lost to Kennebunk in the quarterfinals

Key players: Seniors Spencer Carson and Kevin Lessard, junior Eben Perkins and sophomore Jake Laviolet return from last year’s varsity; senior John Hilton, juniors Brendan Casavant and Alex Foster and sophomore Ian Levinsky look to make an impact.

Season outlook: We hope to play “smart, team tennis with a bench that supports the players on the court. Our spirit will come from fun, competitive practices.”

Coach: Steve Vowell (1st year)

Last season’s record: 2-13

Key players: Junior Kaylene Godwin, SS: athlete, mobile, power hitter, great arm, super attitude; sophomore Cynthia Wescott, C: great leader, awesome work ethic; junior Julia Cuddy, CF: sincere love of the game, leader of everyone; freshman Olivia Hebert, OF: never-say-die attitude, good athlete, fast.

Season outlook: “We are going to play hard all the time, every play, and we’re never going to surrender. And we’ll let the chips fall where they may.”

How did last season end: Lost to Oxford Hills in state championship game

Key players: Senior SS Alex Welch; juniors SS Adam Hamilton, IF/P Shane Kelly, C Mike Tanguay, P/OF Joe Cook

Season outlook: “After graduating 13 seniors, we look to gain experience as the season progresses. We have a lot of young talent and I like our team.”

How did last season end: Two girls qualified for the state meet: graduate Amy Swanson (discus) and sophomore Amy McIntyre (triple jump).

Key players: Seniors Meaghan Murphy (throws, hurdles) and Shannon Northrop (javelin, mile); juniors Samantha Peters (800, mile), Jen Robertson (mile, two-mile), Chelsea Douglas (racewalk) and Allie Morse (racewalk); sophomore Amy McIntyre (jumps, 400); freshman Erin Murphy (jumps, hurdles).

Season outlook: “The roster is only about 14-15 girls, so numbers are very low. Should be strong in the jumps, hurdles, middle distance and racewalk. Personal improvement is the number one goal with all the girls.”

Boys Track

Coach: Dave Kahill (2nd year)

How did last season end: Collected four points at the state meet.

Key players: Alex Baillargeon (Sr): state indoor 400m champion who is also a top competitor in the 300m hurdles, 400m, 800m, LJ and TJ; Erik Born (Sr): state indoor triple jump champion and a top competitor in the 300m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m, LJ, TJ and HJ; John Davis (Sr): placed seventh in the indoor state meet in the pole vault and looks to continue his rapid improvement in that event; Dave Quigley (Sr): placed in the HJ, LJ and TJ in the indoor state meet, another versatile athlete and top competitor in the HJ, LJ, TJ, javelin, 200m & 400m; Robbie Preston (Jr): very good sprinter and long and triple jumper; seventh in the LJ at the state indoor meet; also Alex Emery (Sr, distance), Aaron Tanguay (Sr, distance), Anthony Dahms (Sr, discus), Myles McIlwain (Sr, discus), Shawn Coffill (Jr. sprints), Corey Luce (So, sprints), Preston Eggleston (Sr, distance), Will Wescott (So, throws), Shiquan James (So, distance), Lance Nicols (Sr, distance), Pat Walsh (Sr, throws), Josh Bouffard (Fr, sprints, hurdles), Anthony Gato (Jr, throws), Derek Gilman (Jr, throws), Alex Grant (Fr, distance), Tripp Richardson (Fr, distance), Alex Burnham, and Mike Caiazzo (Jr, sprints).

Season outlook: “We are a small but competitive an hardworking team with some of the top athletes in the state. Our strengths come from great focus and strong senior leadership and work ethic. We will be very competitive in the jumps and track events, but we are generally inexperienced and unproven in the throws.”

Girls Lacrosse

Coach: Deb Henry (5th year)

Last season’s record: 2-10

Key players: Brittany Symbol and Ashley Caron are our two top defenders; Lauren Sawyer really came on the second half last year; and Meghan Cutter and Allie Aceto are both very versatile.

Season outlook: “We have a lot of good athletes who are fast and enthusiastic. It’s just a matter of them learning to play lacrosse. Our overall numbers are up to 40 from 24 last year. I’m expecting good things.”

Boys Lacrosse

Coach: Zach Conover (2nd year)

Last season’s record: 2-10

Key players: Chad Cleaves and J.J. Marcigliano

Season outlook: “We’ve lost some talented players, but we’re better across the board. We’re going to take it one game at a time.”
