When considering whom to elect for Ward One City Council, I hope that you all will give Brendan Rielly your vote! Brendan has faithfully and tirelessly served our city as a member of the council for four years. As a city councilor and a life-long private citizen of Westbrook, Brendan has contributed to this community in many valuable ways.

Brendan has focused his efforts at improving education in Westbrook by forming the Westbrook Education Foundation, he served on the all-day kindergarten committee, and he (along with the majority of the City Council) focused real efforts toward stopping more damaging tax cuts from the education budget this year!

He is concerned about families and neighborhoods. I feel that one of his most important contributions this year was to propose the development of the recently adopted site plan standards that will help to protect our neighborhoods from the detrimental effects of large-scale development while allowing for progressive economic growth in the Gateway Commercial zone. Brendan is focused on economic development. He recently proposed holding an economic summit in Westbrook to spark economic development and learn how we can do better as a community.

Brendan cares about culture in our community – He was responsible for initiating the Riverwalk Arts Festival. This important event is something families can enjoy, and it also brings people to our downtown to support the businesses there.

Most importantly, Brendan is intelligent, professional, and approachable. He is proactive rather than reactive and someone who will truly stand up for Westbrook. A vote for Brendan Rielly is a vote for moving Westbrook in a positive direction!
