The life of a Limington teenager, Randy Joe Morse, who died last week after jumping from a car, was celebrated Saturday in a service at LifeChurch in Gorham.

The Rev. Brian Undlin, co-pastor of LifeChurch, on Monday said Morse liked attending the church and enjoyed the people. “I knew Randy as a very outgoing, friendly individual,” Undlin said. “He had a relationship with God.”

Sgt. Daniel Young of the Gorham Police Department said in a report that Morse, 18, landed on his feet after jumping from the trunk of a car onto pavement at about 5 p.m. on June 3 on Dingley Spring Road. Then, Morse fell backward, striking his head, according to the police report.

Gorham police said Morse was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center in Portland a short time after the incident.

Police said the car was driven by Morse’s cousin, Alexander Morse, 21, of Hollis. The car was traveling southbound at a slow speed near the intersection of Dingley Spring Road and Buck Street.

“It was an unfortunate incident,” Young said Wednesday.

Young said no charges have been filed, but Gorham police would submit the case to the district attorney for review.

Morse graduated from Bonny Eagle High School lin 2008.

Morse enjoyed playing football and attending a Bible study at LifeChurch. He worked with his father as a technician at Charlie’s Tire on Dingley Spring Road in Gorham.

Undlin said the service celebrating Morse’s life was very well attended.

“It was obvious that a lot of people will miss him,” Undlin said.
