Jan. 1: There will be a Southern Maine Volkssport Association New Years Day (10K) walk (rain or shine) starting at the Double Tree Hotel on Congress Street, Portland, ME. Start time is noon in the Lobby. Everyone is invited to this walk, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Jan. 4: Health Chat at Windham Public Library Meeting Room, 6 p.m. Topic is “Winter Skin Care.” Find out how to protect your skin from the drying effects of the winter weather. Suzanne Turkington, a licensed aesthetician, will discuss how to keep your skin looking fresh and “dewy” all winter long.

Jan. 5: The Windham Child Care Providers will be sponsoring a workshop on “Child Care Tax Preparation” at 7 p.m. at the Windham Public Library. Jan. 8: The Knights of Columbus, Council 10020 of Windham will be holding a Pancake Breakfast at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Hall, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Come join the Knights of Columbus and their family members and enjoy the fellowship of the morning. Menu to include: Pancakes, Sausage, Orange Juice and Coffee. Price is $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under.
