The Greely High boys and the Falmouth girls won last Friday’s Western Maine Conference championships. The Rangers scored 179 points to top York (142), Falmouth (123.5), and Cape Elizabeth (56) in the 13-team boys event. And the Yachtsmen scored 148 points to best Greely (109), Wells (83), Gray-NG (80), York (78.5), and Cape Elizabeth (53) in the 13-team girls’ field.
Cape’s Brad Doliner won the pole vault at a height of 12 feet. And Cape’s other top finishes on the boys side were turned in by Marcus Goldbas (third in the junior 55), Curtis Dulac (fourth in the senior 400), Calvin Klopp (third in the senior shot put), and Joel Bickford (third in both the long jump and triple jump).
The Cape girls had an outstanding performance from Ashley Robinson at each and every turn during the meet. Robinson won the senior 55, the senior 200 and she also won the long jump.
Cape also earned some points from Marita Stressenger (third in the junior 400), Emma Hockmuth (second in the pole vault), Ali Howe (sixth in the senior high jump), Carly Riker (sixth in the senior shot put), and Hannah Doss (fifth in the 800).
