SMCC fall season underway

Southern Maine Community College’s soccer teams have begun their 2015 seasons. The women’s team won its opener, 8-0, at Vermont Tech. Men’s soccer was 1-1-1 at press time after beating Ben Franklin College (5-2), losing to CCRI (4-0) and tying Vermont Tech (1-1). Golf starts Saturday at NHTI. Baseball begins Thursday of next week at Bridgton Academy. Softball opens with a doubleheader at St. Joseph’s of Vermont Saturday, Sept. 19.
