PORTLAND — Margaret Alice Shehan, 92, died Jan. 21 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.
Born in Lewiston in 1916, she graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn before moving to Portland.
While living in Auburn, she was active in the community and acted as a co-host of a children’s puppet show on Channel 8.
After moving to the Portland area, she worked as a banquet manager at various locations, including Scarborough Downs, where she met her second husband, Tom Shehan.
A longtime fan of harness racing, she could often be found watching the races at the Downs.
She was predeceased by her second husband Tom Shehan, her first husband Clarence Cronk, brother Ralph Sacre, nephew Victor Sacre and her parents Hattie and Victor Sacre.
Survivors include her daughter Janice Marston and husband Dick of Auburn, and daughter Judy and husband Norm of Yarmouth; four grandchildren, Frederick Liberty of Bozeman, Mont., Lisa Becker and husband Rob Becker of Concord, Mass., Dan Marston of Old Orchard Beach, and Matt Marston of Somerville, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, True Liberty Becker and Tate Liberty Becker of Concord, Mass.; and a special friend, Donna Bryant of Portland.
Memorial services were held last week.
