Summer wrestling offered at Scarborough High
There will be a Monday and a Wednesday evening summer wrestling program offered at Scarborough High School in the Plummer Gym from June 22 through July 29. Red Storm coach Phil Hamilton and NCAA and high school referee John Cole will instruct grades K through 12. USM All-American Mike Morin will also offer special clinics. The cost is $50. South Portland hosting Hershey track meet
South Portland Parks and Recreation will host the Hershey Track and Field regional meet Wednesday, June 24 at the high school track. FMI, 767-7650.
Maine Waves holding open practice

USM lacrosse hosting two fundraisers
The University of Southern Maine men’s lacrosse team, coming off the first winning season in program history, is hosting a skills clinic/competition for boys ages 6 to 18 and a boys’ high school 3-versus-3 tournament on Saturday, June 27 at the Gorham campus’ Hodgdon Field. The clinic is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25 for pre-registration and $30 the day of. The 3v3 tournament goes from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Cost is $60 per team. New, unique lacrosse camp starting up
Former Yarmouth High and college lacrosse standouts Jon and Sam Miller are introducing the Grip and Rip Lacrosse Camp this summer. The camp is geared toward players who want to play in college, teaching them about the process, while honing their skills. Current college players will be in attendance as well to step up the level of play even higher. The camp runs from June 29 through July 7, from to 5 to 8 p.m. daily on Yarmouth High’s turf field. Scarborough softball camp upcoming
The Big Hits Summer Softball Camp, sponsored by Scarborough Community Services, will be held in June and July at the Scarborough High School fields. Scarborough varsity coach Tom Griffin leads the lineup of coaches involved. Ages 6 through 8 go from June 29 to July 3 from 9 a.m., to 12 p.m. The cost is $100. Ages 8 through 12 attend the same dates from 9 a.m., to 3 p.m. The cost is $185. Ages 12 through 17 go from July 13 through 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $185. First annual lacrosse refereeing camp scheduled
The first annual Midcoast Lacrosse Refereeing Camp will be held July 6 through 9 at Bowdoin College. Times are 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. the first three days and 11 a.m., to 3 p.m. on July 9. Directed by Mary Parker and Sue Perkins, the camp features classroom instruction, mechanics, game tape analysis, rules clarification, extensive on-field mentoring and more. Odyssey Sport tryouts upcoming

Ziggy’s Running Camp open for registration
Ziggy’s Running Camp for boys and girls ages 12 to 18, presented by Waynflete School cross country and track coach Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie, a member of the Maine Running Hall of Fame, will be held July 13 through 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Waynflete athletic field.
