Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that Maine’s suicide rate, like the nation’s as a whole, is trending upwards.

In 2016, Maine had 226 reported suicides – a rate of 16.97 suicides per 100,000 residents. The national rate was 13.84 suicides per 100,000 people.
