NOTES
Jay Lowery resigned as the Portland High girls’ basketball coach, effective immediately.
Portland Athletic Director Rob O’Leary didn’t give a reason for the resignation.
The Bulldogs made the playoffs in Lowery’s first season – 2014-15 – finishing with a 9-11 record after winning one playoff game.
But Portland struggled through a 2-16 season last winter and dropped to 0-5 this season when it lost 75-41 to Edward Little on Thursday.
