FREEPORT — Jake Kackmeister scored with 12 minutes remaining in the first half Tuesday and Gray-New Gloucester went on to a 1-0 victory against Freeport in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy soccer game.
Joey Burke recorded five saves for the Falcons (3-2). John Villanueva stopped three shots for Gray-New Gloucester (5-0-1).
THORNTON ACADEMY 3, NOBLE 0: Ben Steva opened the scoring 15 minutes into the second half off a cross from Chase Pierce and the Trojans (6-0-1) pulled away from the Knights (1-4) at North Berwick.
Keegan Fowler and Ben Caras added one goal apiece, and Colin Daly finished with four saves to record the shutout.
Noah Safford made 12 saves for the Knights.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Owen Sullivan scored unassisted with five minutes left as the Raiders (2-4) beat the Hawks (2-2-1) at Fryeburg.
Cameron Cyr made seven saves for Sacopee Valley.
GORHAM 4, SANFORD 0: Jackson Fotter scored two goals as the Rams (5-0) beat the Spartans (1-4-1) at Gorham.
Kyle King and Kyle Patterson also scored, and Andrew Brown and Sam Burghardt each picked up an assist for Gorham, which led 3-0 at halftime. Garrett Gallant made six saves for Sanford.
VINALHAVEN/NORTH HAVEN 5, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 3: Keaton Lear scored his third goal of the game with 7:06 left to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Vikings (2-2) over the Lions (0-4-1) at Vinalhaven.
Trailing 3-2 at halftime, the Lions tied it when Ethan Spaulding scored from Mason Jones with 12:20 remaining.
Spaulding finished with two goals and one assist, and Jeremiah Hammond collected one goal and one assist for Greater Portland Christian.
Tim Farrelly and Andrew Moody scored, and Farrelly also had an assist for the Vikings.
DEERING 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Iessa Ramadan and Pedro Lusogandio scored second-half goals as the Rams (6-0) defeated the Scots (1-4) at Standish.
Ramadan’s goal came with 22 minutes remaining. Lusogandio scored with 10 minutes left.
Brady Grass recorded 11 saves for the Scots. Mustafa Kadhim stopped nine shots for Deering.
CHEVERUS 4, WINDHAM 1: Luc Dionne had a first-half goal and added two assists for the Stags (3-3), who built a 2-0 halftime lead and cruised by the Eagles (1-5) at Windham.
James Shimanski had a first-half goal for Cheverus, Nolan Doherty extended the lead after 1:08 of the second half, and Chris St. John converted a late penalty kick for the Stags.
Trevor Rogers scored for Windham.
Harrison Bell stopped six shots for the Stags, Alex Wilkins made five saves for the Eagles.
PORTLAND 4, MASSABESIC 1: Peter Gribizis scored two goals for the Bulldogs (5-1), who got all of their goals in the first half against the Mustangs (0-6) at Waterboro.
Quinn Clark gave Portland a 1-0 lead from Pedro Fonseca. Gribizis’ first goal came from Sam Nkurunziza before he added his second goal from Manny Yugu, making it 3-0.
Wes Bryan completed the scoring for the Bulldogs from Zekariya Shaib. Cameron Goodrich scored for Massabesic off a corner kick, and Joshua Castonguay made eight saves.
GREELY 2, FALMOUTH 1: The Rangers (3-3) built a 2-0 halftime lead and held off the Yachtsmen (4-1-1) at Cumberland.
Will Pidgeon scored from Owen McIntyre in the 11th minute and Hunter Graham added an unassisted goal to extend Greely’s lead just before halftime.
Andrew Muscadin scored for Falmouth early in the second half.
A.J. Eisenhart stopped 11 shots for the Rangers. Nick Buckley had eight saves for Falmouth.
YARMOUTH 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Henry Coolidge scored the winning goal for the Clippers (3-1) against the Capers (4-2-1) at Cape Elizabeth.
Matthew Dostie also scored for the Clippers, who also took advantage of an own goal.
Connor Thoreck and Quinn Hewitt answered for Cape Elizabeth.
Hewitt’s goal came on a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 3-2 with 8:43 remaining.
GIRLS
FREEPORT 1, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Kerry Lefebvre scored as the Falcons (4-2-1) edged the Patriots (0-8) at Gray.
Alicia Credit stopped 12 shots for Gray-New Gloucester. Megan Seymour made a pair of saves for the shutout.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Madison Day had four saves for Sacopee Valley (4-0-1) and Tiffany Leclair stopped 12 shots for the Seagulls (0-5-1) at Old Orchard Beach.
VINALHAVEN/NORTH HAVEN 1, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Deja Doughty scored off a free kick after 3:45 of the second half to lift the Vikings (3-1) over the Lions (1-5) at Vinalhaven.
Gilleyanne Davis-Oakes made two saves to record the shutout. Clairette Kirezi finished with four saves for the Lions.
LEWISTON 1, BRUNSWICK 0: Hannah Chaput scored from Christine Chase as the Blue Devils (3-2-1) edged the Dragons (4-2) at Brunswick.
Kallie Play finished with 18 saves to record the shutout. Beth Labbe made eight saves for Brunswick.
BANGOR 3, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Luci Clein scored for the Rams (6-0) with two minutes left to edge the Windjammers (5-1) at Rockport.
Camden Hills had tied it one minute earlier on a penalty kick by Charlotte Messer, her second goal of the game.
Katie Butler scored the first two goals for Bangor.
MORSE 3, LEAVITT 0: Emily Martin broke a scoreless tie late in the first half from Amanda Gagne and the Shipbuilders (5-1) went on to beat the Hornets (2-3-2) at Turner.
Gagne had two goals and an assist, and extended the lead to 2-0 from Micailah Abertson with 12 minutes remaining. She completed the scoring three minutes later from Noa Sreden.
MT. ARARAT 5, OXFORD HILLS 0: Isabel Burch scored twice as the Eagles (4-2) handled the Vikings (0-6) at Topsham.
Anna Manuel, Brennan Thibotot and Ryley Leech added goals.
BONNY EAGLE 2, DEERING 1: Avery Cochran scored with eight minutes remaining to lift the Scots (4-2) over the Rams (3-3) at Portland.
Mia Sargent scored on Ewa Varney’s corner kick to give the Rams a 1-0 lead five minutes in. The Scots tied it on a goal by Madison Boothby with five minutes remaining in the half.
YORK 8, POLAND 0: Maddy Amadon scored three goals for the Wildcats (2-1-2) against the Knights (1-5) at Poland.
Morgan Smith had a pair of goals, and Halee Bando, Renee Abruzzese and Morgan Chapman also scored. Maddy Cogger and Delaney Labonete had two assists each.
KENNEBUNK 6, WELLS 1: Sierra Tarte scored a pair of goals and Hallie Schwartzman collected four assists for the Rams (5-1-1), who scored four second-half goals to pull away from the Warriors (0-5) at Kennebunk.
Elizabeth Flynn, Lydia Corcoran, Sarah Thill and Caitlin Wolff also scored for the Rams, who led 2-1 at halftime.
