Kenneth E. Hall
CORNISH – Kenneth Edgar Hall, born in Boston, Mass. in 1928, passed away suddenly at Maine Medical Center in Portland, on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, a few weeks short of his 95th birthday.
Ken served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy after World War II. He was on active duty from 1952-1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Ribbon for his naval service.
He attended schools in Stoughton, Mass. and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He had a long and varied career in the Electrical Engineering (E.E.) profession and research. He was an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (I.E.E.E.), the Sons of the American Revolution (S.A.R.) and many other groups and organizations. He was also active in local Cornish town government and community work, including for over 20 years on Cornish Planning Board and related town government work and was involved in Cornish Library Association and other groups. He was a railroad enthusiast and enjoyed travel, and day trips, including via rail. He had a good life, all in all.
His older sister, Joyce Hall Janson, and his wife, Jean H. Hall, predeceased him earlier, prior to his passing.
He is survived by his only son, David K. Hall, of Cornish; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial is private at the convenience of family. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held later with the Poitras, Neal and York Funeral Home, to be announced in 2024.
