Mama’s Broke is the Nova Scotia duo of Lisa Maria and Amy Lou Keller. Years ago they shared a 17-hour car ride and bonded over music so intensely they started the band about a week later. The Mama’s Broke sound melds Americana with Celtic and Balkan along with some Southern Gothic influences. Both women sing, and you’ll hear fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin along with traditional dance and foot percussion during the performance.
