Hoorah! It’s hockey season, and our Maine Mariners are facing off against the Adirondack Thunders. This marks the Mariners’ fifth season as part of the AA league. The games are always thrilling, and it never gets old to watch the Zambonis work their magic. Is this the year we go all the way? Catch an early season game to help get off to a winning start.

This year’s Harvest on the Harbor food festival winds down with the Maine Oysterfest. It’s time for a little splurge in the name of celebrating Maine seafood, specifically oysters harvested from all along Maine’s lengthy coast. Admission includes 18 oysters, though you can add on more when you buy your ticket. You’ll wash them all down with drinks from Austin Street Brewing, Kit NA, Freedom’s Edge Cider, Oxbow Brewing, Talisker Whisky, Bulleit Bourbon, Lunetta Prosecco and Bottega Vinaia and Yealands Wines while you chat with the farmers and enjoy live music.

Dancing with the Dentists

When they’re not busy making sure our choppers are in good shape, six local dentists have been working on their ballroom dancing skills, and you can see them strut their stuff with professional dance partners while raising funds for two local causes that provide dental care and food to individuals, families and communities. A panel of judges includes L.L. Bean CEO Steve Smith and Justin Chenette, the county commissioner for Saco, among others. DJ Jon from Hot Radio Maine will be in charge of music, and the DWTD host is Erin Ovalle from the TV series “Maine Life.” The evening also features a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, cocktails and a ton of tasty hors d’oeuvres.
