Doris C. Cook

CUMBERLAND – Doris C. Cook, 83, of Cumberland, passed away on Oct. 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 5, 1940, a daughter of Roland and Adrienne (Lefebvre) Houle. Doris graduated salutatorian from Freeport High School and later graduated from Westbrook College. She had a long career as a lab technologist in the blood bank at Maine Medical Center for over 42 years. Her attention to detail was second to none.

Doris was loved by everyone who met her. She could talk to anyone, and she was so genuine and caring. She was also known for her fantastic wit and sense of humor. Above all, she will be remembered for being the best Mom and Grammy ever. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives.

She was predeceased by her parents; a son, David MacKinnon; and her husband, Olin MacKinnon.

Doris is survived by her loving family with whom she lived for the past six years: her daughter, Sherry Boothby, granddaughter, Fiona, and son-in-law, Scott Boothby.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane in Yarmouth.
