Are there any moderate Republicans in Congress? Or has the term “moderate Republican” become an oxymoron? All we hear about are the 10 to 12 “MAGA” representatives who are willing to burn the place down and take the U.S. economy and its credit rating with them.
Where are the other 200 Republican members of Congress? Why can’t they nominate a compromise candidate for speaker of the House who would be able to secure enough Democratic votes to win? In order to do that, among other things, they would have to agree to continue to fund the war in Ukraine and pass a compromise budget without all the drama of the recent past.
In other words, they would have to behave like adults and do their jobs. Is that too much to ask? Where are they?
