The Cape Elizabeth Ordinance Committee will hold a public forum on affordable housing and state mandate LD 2003 at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Town Hall.
Town Councilor Penny Jordan, chairwoman of the ordinance committee, will discuss the mandate, accessory dwelling units and the town’s proposals. The committee will field questions from residents and town officials, including the town planner and the town attorney, will be on hand to respond.
LD 2003 is intended to encourage more affordable housing in Maine by softening zoning restrictions. The town has until January to bring its zoning ordinances in line with the mandate.
