The Southern Maine Community College Foundation will present its 2023 A Light on the Point Awards at a ceremony Nov. 2.
Receiving the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award will be Wendy Laverdiere, associate director of financial aid, and Kristen Baker, administrative specialist.
Jon Smith, owner of Great Falls Construction in Gorham, will receive the Outstanding Alumnus Award and Heather Perry, superintendent of Gorham schools, will be honored with the Outstanding Business/Organization Award.
The President’s Award will go to Bath Iron Works for being “an outstanding charitable group, community-based organization, trade association or program that has demonstrated excellence within the local community, state or region.”
Awardees will be recognized in a ceremony Nov. 2 at the South Portland SMCC campus. Tickets can be purchased at bit.ly/3LFFK4B.
