Of the five candidates for mayor of Portland, only one stands out as the person with the leadership qualities and experience to address the major issues facing the city.
The election debates, so far, have shown who is focused the most on the problems of Portland. Mark Dion’s career as a lawyer, the sheriff of Cumberland County, Maine state representative, Maine state senator and Portland city councilor make him the most qualified to lead Portland. Dion can work with the state government, law enforcement, local governments and others to help resolve the overwhelming issues.
The other candidates are too intent on a few problems, but not all of them, and they just don’t have the experience to run Maine’s largest city.
