Nicholas David Humez

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Nicholas David Humez, 75, of Painesville, Ohio, died peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 5, 2023.

His creative imagination was manifest: As a musician: composer of instrumental music, chamber operas, and art songs; tenor soloist and choir member.

As a silversmith/sculptor: creator of original jewelry and fanciful, meticulously executed sterling silver sculptures.

As a writer: author of books, newspaper columnist, lyricist and master of light verse, indefatigable writer of letters.

As a teacher: Mythology at Montclair University in New Jersey.

He will be remembered as well as a cartoonist, sketcher in pen and ink, book indexer, proof reader, and editor. A mentor and friend whose generosity and quirky good humor were boundless, he will be much missed.

Nick is survived by his wife, Leslie Edwards; stepson, Matthew and daughter-in-law, Marina; his brother, Alex and sister-in-law, Jean, and their daughter Andrea and son-in-law, Jan.
