Scarborough Public Library continues its Ann P. Hammond Memorial Literature Series next week with visits from poets and poetry workshops.
Two of the state’s former poet laureates, Betsy Sholl and Wesley McNair, will appear. Sholl will read from her latest collection, “As If a Song Could Save You,” on Tuesday, Sept. 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and McNair will read from his “Late Wonders” on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
David McCann will lead a poetry workshop on Korean sijo poetry and conclude with a reading from his book, “People, Places, Poems,” on Nov. 4 at 2 p.m.
A Round Robin event will wrap things up on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., hosted by local poets Kate Kearns, Megan Sterling and Katherine Hagopian Berry.
All of the events are free but registration is required due to space limitations. For more information, and to register, go to scarboroughlibrary.org/poetryseries.
