Having read the Press Herald article regarding the shortcomings of Maine’s Postal Service operations (“Audit of Maine postal operations finds widespread deficiencies,” Sept. 13) , I feel compelled to give accolades to the employees of the Scarborough Post Office.

There are only three people working at the post office and the Scarborough population is well over 22,000. These three employees are far from “deficient” in their operations. They are efficient, patient, friendly and helpful to the lines of people that enter the post office each day. Scarborough is so fortunate that these three people are willing to work in an outdated building, with extraordinarily limited staff, with long hours and days serving a constant and steady stream of customers.

I thank Scarborough Post Office workers for the outstanding service they consistently give to so many – in spite of the challenges faced by the overall Maine Postal Service operations.
