Machias Savings Bank with two new hires. Ben Jordan has joined the bank as chief operating officer, and Julie Cote has been hired as senior vice president, cash management relationship manager.

Jordan has spent nearly three decades navigating technological advancements in the industry, streamlining operations, and supporting the implementation of digital banking solutions. Most recently, he worked as chief information officer at Synergent, where he focused on delivering holistic support to diverse financial institutions, managing vendor ecosystem integrations, and supporting corporate infrastructure investments. He also is a board member of the Maine Technology Institute.

Julie Cote spent the last two decades at Bangor Savings Bank, where she was most recently a vice president senior corporate services officer. With nearly 25 years of banking experience, she began her banking career working with municipalities, nonprofits, and government agencies on long-term policy and investment goals.

Michael O’Reilly

NBT Bank has hired Michael O’Reilly as its Maine regional president and as president of New England for NBT. Based at the bank’s Maine Regional Headquarters at 5 Widgery Wharf in Portland, O’Reilly will lead NBT’s team of bankers in Maine and oversee strategy execution for the bank across New England. O’Reilly comes to NBT with more than 30 years of experience providing commercial banking services in Maine and New Hampshire. Prior to joining NBT, he was with Bangor Savings Bank. He is a board member and Stewardship Committee chair for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire.

Nichole Kindelan

Allen Insurance and Financial has hired Caribou native Nichole Kindelan. She has more than 25 years in the insurance industry and holds the professional designations of Certified Insurance Counselor, Accredited Customer Service Representative and Certified Professional Insurance Woman.

Jeremy Handlon

Marcum, a New York-based accounting and advisory firm, has promoted Jeremy Handlon, CPA,  to partner. Handon works in the firm’s Assurances Services division in Portland and has nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, providing guidance as well as assurance and tax services to his clients. His practice serves manufacturing, technology and professional services sectors, as well as retirement plans requiring audits and not-for-profit entities.
