Annette M. Derave
SCARBOROUGH – Annette M. (DeChamplain) Derave, 75, of South Portland, passed away on Thursday Aug. 31, 2023 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough following a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston on June 12, 1948 and raised in Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Liane (Doyon) DeChamplain. She married her loving husband Jean-Jacques Derave on April 6, 1968 in Granby, Conn. Together they raised two sons and spent many wonderful years with each other.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 61 years, she enjoyed sharing her Bible based hope of living forever in a paradise on Earth, where perfect life, peace and an end to death are promised. She did some 13 years of these 61 years in full time service in Belgium and in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jean-Jacques; her two sons, Nathan and his wife Amy and Daniel and his wife Tiffany; along with her granddaughters Chloe, Madison and Grace. She also leaves behind her sister, Diane Edmonds and husband Stephen; aunts; and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall at 355 Canco Rd., in Portland and on Zoom. Burial will take place at Cedar Brook Burial Ground in Limerick.
