Dawn M. Ingham
HAVERHILL, Mass. – Dawn M. Ingham, 82, of Haverhill, Mass, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after a period of declining health. She was born in Lawrence, Mass. on July 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Donald and Bertha (Milius) McIntyre.
Dawn’s early childhood was joyfully spent in Lawrence and then the family moved to Portland, Maine where she attended middle school and graduated from Deering High School-Class of 1957. Dawn often spoke of her fond memories of her high school friends and classmates.
Dawn worked at Bell Labs (Lucent Technologies) and was also their national spokesmodel for their Beltone Touch Tone phone. She had a passion for collecting antiques and owned an antique shop on River Street in Haverhill for several years. She obtained her CDL license and was a school bus driver for Whittier Vo-Tech for a time. Dawn went on to become the founder of Pak-Wood Inc., an industrial packaging company that supplied the HVAC industry.
Dawn was a creative and artistic woman who enjoyed painting and pen and ink drawing, sewing, pottery, and gardening (she was a past member of the Haverhill Garden Club).
Dawn was an avid book reader and longtime subscriber to the Wall Street Journal and became quite savvy with investing in the stock market.
Dawn loved to go to her beloved “camp” which is tucked away on a cove in mid coast Maine. She traveled extensively throughout the US, Caribbean, and Europe indulging in her passion for shopping, dining and exploring their various cultures.
Dawn was sadly predeceased by her daughter Colleen in 1998. She is survived by her loving children, Susan Haugh and her husband Anthony of Haverhill and Michael Ingham and his partner Joy of Atkinson, N.H. She also leaves behind her dear sister MaryAnne Freedman and her husband William of Portland.
A private burial service for the family will be held at the Lithuanian National Catholic Cemetery in Methuen, Mass. Arrangements are made by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill-Bradford.
