Wild cats and canines

Learn about all about bobcats, Canada lynx, foxes and coyotes Saturday, June, 24, at the Maine Wildlife Park. Beyond the usual staff-led informative tours, there will be special presentations by biologists Shevenell Webb and Jen Vashon from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the amphitheater, or the picnic pavilion if it rains.

Community Day is here

The first-ever Gray Community Day is finally here. Head to Pennell Park behind Newbegin Gym, 24 Main St., from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

Ride for veterans

American Legion Riders will host a motorcycle ride Saturday, June 24, starting at Post 86 at 15 Lewiston Road in Gray and traveling to Sunday River Brewery in Bethel. A safety meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the ride will start at 10 a.m.

Church supper

The First Congregational Church of Gray will hold a public supper Saturday, June 24, at 5 p.m. at 5 Brown St. Payment is made at the door. Meals are $10 per person. The parish house is wheelchair accessible.

The menu includes casseroles, salads, baked pea beans, red hot dogs, breads, dessert and beverages. Call 657-4279 for more information.

Kids Club registration

Registration for the Gray-New Gloucester Recreation Kids Club, before- and after-school activities for grades K-6, will open at 8 a.m. July 18.  The club runs from Sept. 5 through the end of the school year at a cost of $137 weekly for both before- and after-school attendance or $110 for after-school only. Farmers market

The Gray Village Farmers Market will be open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting July 2 and ending Oct. 8 at 5 Yarmouth Road. Browse local handmade crafts and farm-fresh produce from eggs to baked goods and flowers, along with live music.

Pampered Pooch closing

The dog boarding service Pampered Pooch at 228 Lewiston Road will close permanently June 30. The family-run business opened in 2006 and included dog training, daycare, grooming, fostering and rehoming.
