GORHAM – Dorette Marie Frank, 91 (born in Chicago, Ill.) of Gorham, passed away on June 8, 2023.

A gentle soul, Dorette embodied calm, ingenuity, and creativity. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Dorette was a thoughtful listener who lived her life with kindness and grace and inspired those around her to do the same.

She will be missed by family and friends and the good people who helped care for her in her final days.

Dorette is survived by her six children, Dorette Amell, Peter Amell (and his wife, LuAnne), Joseph Amell, Elizabeth Piche (and her husband, Paul), Christine Richards (and her husband, Mark), and Theodore Amell. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Francesca Simonetti, Theodore Amell, Joshua Amell, and Rebecca Amell; as well as two great-grandchildren, Olive Manns and Atticus Manns.

The family will hold a private service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Good Shepherd Food Bank or Beacon Hospice

of South Portland.
