NEW HIRES
Randy Corkum has been hired as director of assisted living for Ocean View at Falmouth, an 80-acre retirement community in Falmouth. Corkum has 15 years of experience in senior care, most recently as director of residential care at Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough. Previously, he worked for 12 years with Massachusetts General Hospital as operating room director, and for four years in a similar position at Maine Medical Center. Corkum earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts – Boston, and a master’s in hospital and health care facilities administration and management from Walden University.
The John T. Gorman Foundation has hired Leigh Arsenault as a program associate. She comes to her new role from the Aspen Institute’s College Excellence Program, where she served as program manager and helped to lead the biennial Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. Previously, she served as a policy adviser in the Office of the Undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Education. Arsenault earned a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.
Maryanne Bear has rejoined real estate firm Fontaine Family as an associate broker. Bear has been a Realtor since 2011, and worked for years with buyers and sellers in the Greater Portland area and Lake Regions. In 2018, she left Fontaine to pursue a corporate management position, but has returned to work in the Scarborough office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from St. Joseph’s College.
Alice Kabore has joined Portland-based nonprofit Hope Acts as program director. In this role, Kabore oversees Hope Acts’ Asylum Seeker Assistance Program, including Project HOME, the Asylum Application Resource Center, the Work Permit Program and direct service for clients at Hope House. Before joining Hope Acts, Kabore was the multicultural and multilingual coordinator for the South Portland School Department. She also served as a caregiver with disabled children at Spurwink Services and at The Cedars retirement community. Kabore holds a B.A. in finance from ESCO-IGES University in Burkina Faso, and is a certified nursing assistant.
PROMOTIONS
Katahdin Trust Co., a Houlton-based community bank that serves northern Maine, Greater Bangor and the Portland area, has promoted five members of its retail banking team.
• Billi Griffeth, previously regional vice president, retail banking, has been promoted to senior vice president, community banking. In her expanded role, she will lead the sales and service efforts around cash management and continue to oversee staff and administration of the bank’s 16 branch offices. Griffeth has been with Katahdin Trust for 11 years.
• Melissa Dahlgren, previously assistant vice president, branch manager and community banking officer, has been promoted to community banking team leader, vice president. In her expanded role, she will assist with the administration of branches and ongoing retail training initiatives, and will continue to oversee operations at the Mars Hill and Fort Fairfield locations. Dahlgren has worked for 14 years with Katahdin Trust.
• Rebecca Kord, previously assistant vice president, branch manager and community banking officer, has been promoted to community banking team leader, vice president. Kord will assist with the administration of branches, mentor branch managers, and continue to oversee operations at the Broadway and Springer Drive branches in Bangor. She has been with Katahdin Trust for nine years.
• Leslie Gardner, previously vice president, retail lending, has been promoted to senior vice president, retail lending. Gardner will continue to oversee the bank’s retail loan department and assist with the review and implementation of lending-related programs and products. She has worked with Katahdin Trust for 26 years.
• Danelle Weston, previously retail underwriting officer, has been promoted to retail underwriting manager, vice president. Weston will assist with the oversight of the retail loan department including lender training and mentorships, and will continue to manage the bank’s retail lending underwriters. Danelle has been with Katahdin Trust for 13 years.
