According to a May 23 news release, on the first weekend of June, Biddeford City Theater will be presenting two events to coincide with Biddeford’s LGBTQ+ Pride to help create community and visibility, honor the history of the rights movement, and celebrate the joy of Biddeford’s LGBTQ+ community.
The first event, City Theater’s Pride Concert, will occur Friday, June 2, starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert will highlight performances by favorite LGBTQ+ and ally performers with a concert featuring music from both musical theater and pop. Listen for music from LGBTQ+ icons like George Michael and Lady Gaga, as well as songs from RENT, Kinky Boots, Falsettos, La Cage aux Folles, and more. Tickets for the Pride Concert are $15 per ticket.
Saturday will feature southern Maine’s Curbside Queens’ first performance at City Theater during City Theater and Curbside Queens Present: Drag Show Extravaganza! on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 8 p.m. Curbside Queens, according to the press release, is Maine’s No. 1 Traveling Drag Show, and has been dazzling New England with its signature sparkle and dazzle for the last three years. Specializing in pop-up shows bringing the magic of Drag to places it doesn’t usually exist, The Queens are stopping in on their Pride Tour 2023 to bring the magic in a fully staged Drag Show Spectacular for City Theater’s first Pride celebration. Patrons are advised that the show will contain adult content, sexual themes, and strong language which may not be suitable for all audience members, including children. Tickets for the Curbside Queens event are $25 per ticket.
