SCARBOROUGH – Richard L. Nadeau was born on Aug. 31, 1940, to Paul and Rose Nadeau. Richard passed away on May 23, 2023, in Scarborough.

Richard was passionate throughout his life about civil rights, behavioral and social psychology, and science. He worked as a vocational counselor, individual counselor for folks with disabilities, and started and ran group homes.

Richard loved nature, and later in life sold natural resources from foraging. He often reminisced about the peace he felt in the woods as a boy while his father worked there. Richard was very proud of his Canadian roots and ancestry.

He is survived by his daughters Nicole (Nadeau) Garrity, and Kathleen Nadeau, their children Jaqueline, Patrick, James, Vie, Gala, and David; his sisters Nicole Nemeth and Louise Yokshus; and his nephew, Alan Nemeth.
