FALMOUTH – John Bickford Pride Sr. went to be with his beloved late wife, Norma B. Pride of 61 years, on May 3, 2023, at 7:45 p.m. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his five children.

He was born in Bath on Sept. 5, 1938. He was the oldest son of the late Earle and Doris Pride. He attended North Yarmouth Academy and elected Mr. NYA, in his senior year. He served in the USAF from 1958 to 1964, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Okinawa, Japan. Marrying his wife Norma on Feb. 27, 1960. Upon leaving the USAF, John was employed by R.C. Hazelton as a heavy equipment mechanic / sales manager for 28 years. John later started his own business, Pride Services LLC, in Home Improvement, Remodeling and Property Management. John was an active member of the Elks, Masons, Lions Club and an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 805, B.S.A.

While employed by R.C. Hazelton Co. John and his family have fond memories of living in Houlton making many lifelong friends and enjoying the outdoors and spending their summers at the family cottage in Kettle Cove on Sebago Lake.

Throughout his life, John enjoyed Modeling and HO scale Railroading, as one of his favorite hobbies and enjoyed sharing this with his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Norma; and his parents.

He is survived by his children John B. Pride Jr. (wife Denise of Bowdoin, children John III, Mary and Michelle); son, Jeffrey A. Pride (wife Holly of Windham, children Kristen and Shane); daughter, Robyn L. Pride of Orland; son, Timothy A. Pride (wife Lisa of Granite Falls, N.C. children Brittany, Timmy); daughter, Ann M. McCullough (husband Owens of Gorham, children Matthew, Sarah, Haley); brothers Earle B. Pride wife Judy, Craig A. Pride wife Susanne, sister-in-law, Sandra Weston, husband Robert; many nieces and nephews; and great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service held at Walnut Hill Cemetery, North Yarmouth on Saturday June 17 at 1 p.m.
